What does a Sitter Session look like?
When do Sitter Sessions take place?
Sitter sessions take place anywhere between 6-9 months usually – each baby is different so this is just a guideline! My eldest wasn’t sitting until she was almost 10 months old, yet my youngest was sitting just before he was 7 months old. Essentially, once your baby is sitting unaided for a couple of minutes, it’s time to book a date for their session as within a few weeks they will be confident at sitting by themselves and we will be able to create a gorgeous milestone gallery for them.
What do sitter sessions look like, and why should you book one for your baby?
Sure, we all take our own milestone photographs each week/month (if we remember!) but booking a sitter photography session ensures that you will receive high-quality images capturing precious moments of your child’s growth and development.

Planning and executing a DIY photo session can be overwhelming, especially when dealing with a young child. As with all of my photography sessions, upon booking you will be invited to schedule a complimentary pre-session consultation prior to your shoot date. This is essentially a planning and preparation session. We can choose which backdrop/theme you would like for your baby’s photographs and I will share my top tips for preparing your baby for their session to ensure things run as smoothly as possible on the day! I have years of experience working with babies and children, understanding their behaviour and how to create a comfortable and safe environment. All I ask from you is that you arrive at our scheduled time and that you simply enjoy the session and the experience of capturing beautiful images of your baby!
How and when to book
When should you book your sitter session? As soon as you know you’d like to capture this milestone. Even if your baby isn’t ready yet, booking your session guarantees you a space in my limited diary for when he/she is ready. We’ll pencil in a floating date at around 7 months and keep in touch so that we can confirm a date as soon as you’re ready.
