- Arrival & Settling: Time for your family to get comfortable in the studio or location, especially if you have younger children.
- Portraits First: We begin with calm, posed portraits before moving into more playful interactions.
- Natural & Playful Moments: Candid laughter, sibling interactions, and family connections are captured throughout the session.
- Flexibility: The session follows your family’s energy and mood – no pressure, just natural moments.
- Viewing & Selection: After the session, you’ll be invited to a viewing and ordereing appointment to choose your favourite images and products.

Family sessions are designed to capture natural connections and joyful moments, but I know parents often have questions. Here are the most common to help you feel prepared and confident.
What ages work best for family sessions?
Sessions work beautifully for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers to grandparents. I adapt my approach depending on your family’s needs and energy levels. Well behaved pets are also welcome.
How long does a family session last?
Family sessions typically last 45–60 minutes. This gives us enough time to capture natural moments without rushing, while keeping little ones happy and engaged.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are in my studio in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. Outdoor lifestyle sessions are also available for a relaxed, natural feel, however there is an additional cost for these. Note; my studio is on the 1st floor and is accessible via one flight of stairs.
What should we wear?
Neutral, coordinated outfits work best. I provide guidance to help your family look effortlessly stylish while keeping the focus on connection rather than clothes.
How do you manage siblings or younger children?
Sessions are child-led and relaxed. I work patiently with siblings, making sure everyone feels included and comfortable, while capturing genuine interactions.
What happens after the session?
You’ll be invited to a viewing and ordering appointment where you can choose your favourite images and decide on wall art or digital images.
